"[...]Gleghorn’s early career included playing piccolo in the Coldstream Guards Band during their visit to the Canadian National Exhibition of 1926 in Toronto. After performing with Britain’s National Symphony Orchestra, he became principal flutist of the Phiharmonia Orchestra (1945-1948).
By 1950 Gleghorn was living in Los Angeles, performing and recording with the Los Angeles Chamber Symphony. He was flute instructor at Immaculate Heart College (Los Angeles), a member of the Glendale Symphony Orchestra, and also in the Craft Ensemble, a woodwind quintet.
Gleghorn’s name sometimes appeared as “Cleghorn” on record labels and in reviews. [...]"
